The Accompanying Book to my CD ‘When Wallflowers Dance’. Life Lessons in Word & Music
About the book:
It is my joy to be able to share with you the stories behind the songs!
This book comprises the lyrics of the songs from my CD ‘When Wallflowers Dance‘, the process of each song’s inspiration, music and recording as well as their individual messages. There’s always a life lesson, a testimony and God encounters within each song!
All in all this devotional took about a year or so to complete. Since the release of my CD I had been working on the messages. As I shared testimony in conjunction with a song at a concert or other music engagement, I had penned beforehand what was on my heart to share. Because some of that I used in my newsletters also under the column “The Word from The Word”. So each song’s testimony was done individually, one song at a time. So within the time frame of a year, I finally had all the articles together.
Now writing them separately to share in a newsletter or in a concert is a whole different aspect then putting them all together into one book! Since they all were written as individual stories, now in book form, they would be read together or in sequence. Thus I had to do a lot of revisions from the concert testimony write ups or the newsletter column to tie this all together in the book. In the column of my newsletter there was only so much space, so you had to keep it short. In a concert, you share a lot of things verbally, so not all was written down. So it’s been a very interesting journey with this book trying not to repeat scriptures or concepts, although the subject of the whole book remains the same.
The theme of the book is about overcoming the obstacles of soul issues (such as depression, hopelessness or lost dreams) and how by renewing our minds through God’s Word we can continue to stay or become fruitful in all circumstances by allowing God to guide our dreams to fruition. It is not in achieving our goals in which we are fulfilled, it is in the dance with God we are satisfied! Rejoicing doesn’t necessarily come when we have attained our goal, but rather in the dance. In letting Him have His way and not us insisting on ours, the goal will have an impeccable outcome and we are fulfilling our absolute purpose!
A Bit Of History.
Many of you have asked me at different times how this or that song came about or what inspired me to write it. Therefore I’m excited to have been able to do so at this time!
It had always been on my heart to put out an accompanying book to each of my CDs. In the past, printing books however was something I just couldn’t afford to do. Therefore all those many years ago, starting out in this music mission, I began sharing what God was showing me by writing many little devotionals. So all these little lessons to my earlier CD’s were mainly printed in my monthly newsletters. They had their own section which I mentioned above called “The Word From The Word”.
The bulletins were distributed back then in concerts, through a mailing list, or I handed them to people who wanted a copy.
Eventually “The Word From The Word” found it’s place online, mainly shared on my previous website under it’s own page. However, two years ago, my website crashed. It was extremely outdated and the framework of it was no longer up to date to where nothing could be done with it anyways.
Therefore, two years ago I commissioned web designer Jeremy Drinnin from Omega CCR in St. Cloud, MN to create a new website for me, which is this one online today. Lots of the old information didn’t get carried over to the new one, mainly because of the different format. However now was the time to take a step of faith and get the first book written, printed and released.
So you can imagine that this is another milestone in my faith-walk with the Lord and I’m so grateful for His mercy, grace, lessons, discipline and provision for this dream of mine to come true. I can only hope that in time I may also complete the other devotionals to go with my previous CDs. The stories have been written, all they need is re-editing for book format and printed.
Taking faith steps.
Thus starting with ‘When Wallflowers Dance’ my latest CD release I’m starting at the end or the last CD project to go forward with a book release. The rest, the Lord willing will be done in His timing for all the other CDs.
Hope this first book will bring revelation of God’s presence to you and bring to you even more things to ponder on than I could write about. I’m almost positive that God will lead you into even more than what you will be reading. Some of you will grow, some of you will be reminded, and some of you could teach me a thing or two. It all depends where you are at spiritually and in your faith-walk and growth in the Lord. In either case, we go forward together, loving and trusting the Lord to help us in all of our life situations and take His hand to lead us in the dance!
